'To Haiti with Love' Gala
"To Haiti with Love" was a fundraiser that took place on January 22nd at the University Club to benefit the Canadian Red Cross in their work with Haiti. Organized by Miss Rosie Bitts, the soirée showcased local performers including burlesque dancers, musicians and DJ’s. Local photographers Véronique Da Silva and Michael Tourigny also raised money for disaster relief in Haiti during an all-day photo shoot, which was added to the proceeds from the door at the gala. A silent auction was also held that evening to raise even more for the people in need in the earthquake-ravaged country.
In total over $10,000.00 was raised to send to the region via the Canadian Red Cross
